London Borough of Brent signs £15 million contract with Capita to administer revenues service

Capita contract to bring the Council an anticipated £4.6million in savings over five years

The London Borough of Brent and Capita today announce the signing of a contract for the provision of council tax and business rates administration and the supporting IT services. The contract is worth £15 million over five years, with an option to extend for a further three years. As part of the partnership, Capita will deliver a guaranteed collection rate for council tax and an anticipated £4.6 million in savings for the Council over the initial term of the contract.

Capita will be helping the Council to improve processes and support the objectives of its ‘One Council’ programme which is designed to deliver value for money while ensuring excellent service delivery.  Capita will also be investing in new technology to enhance data collection and utilise new software, as well as implementing new customer service solutions.

Cllr Muhammed Butt, London Borough of Brent lead member for corporate resources, commented: “Our partnership with Capita will help Brent to make significant savings while also continuing to deliver constantly improving collection rates and excellent customer services.”
