Capita Software Services announces it has completed the implementation of 10 new revenues and benefits customers, including two shared services arrangements, onto its Capita Revenues & Benefits system. Worth nearly £3m in total, the contracts range from comprehensive revenues and benefits solutions to specific business rates applications. This will help the authorities in question to increase the accuracy and speed of processing and offer online services for citizens which includes the ability to easily provide a change of address, sign up for e-Billing and complete direct debit payments.
Capita is providing the software necessary to facilitate the collection and administration of council tax, business rates and benefits so the following authorities across England can deliver the highest level of service to their citizens:
- Allerdale Borough Council on behalf of Allerdale Borough, Copeland Borough and Carlisle City Councils (collectively known as the North West Cumbria Shared Services arrangement)
- Blackpool & Fylde shared services arrangement
- The City of London
- Gateshead Council
- Greenwich Council
- Lewisham Council
- Rochdale Borough Council
- Rushcliffe Borough Council
- South Staffordshire Council
- Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council
Marie McRoberts, assistant director revenues & benefits at Blackpool & Fylde Borough Council, commented: “Our shared services arrangement clearly demonstrates our commitment to improving efficiency and cutting costs, while maintaining a quality service for our citizens. We have strict criteria when it comes to choosing suppliers in order to ensure we receive the best possible solution at the right price. We chose Capita to provide our revenues and benefits solution because it scored highest across the tendered criteria. The software also possesses a high level of functionality and is low risk - especially regarding the actual migration and data conversion process. We have also seen evidence that Capita’s solution works well in other shared services arrangements, which gave us the confidence that it was the right fit for our requirements.”
Paul Millard, operations director at Capita Software Services, said: “Every authority places a high importance on customer services so during such migrations providing a quick and efficient service is key. With our seasoned team of experts, we managed to securely transfer the necessary data onto our system with no disruption to services, regardless of whether or not it was a single department deployment or a shared services arrangement. We look forward to working with all ten authorities to develop their revenues and benefits service further.”
