Almost a third of Welsh local authorities chose to work in partnership with Capita Software Services to ensure a comprehensive yet efficient approach to their benefits take-up campaign.
Capita Software Services created a system whereby every charge payer that wasnt already receiving benefit was contacted thus ensuring those eligible but not claiming were not missed.
The innovative solution meant that over a six month period, the Capita call centre dealt with over 31,000 calls of which 1,800 resulted in claim forms being completed and over £365,000 being awarded in benefits.
